openIndex
„openIndex”
is a tool that has been created on the basis of Organizational DNA which we have
used for many years. The new tool has been modified to fit High Technology
companies. It is a questionnaire built with more than 80 statements about their
companies, employees can agree or disagree with them on a 5-degree scale. Those
statements concern almost all aspects of the company and its performance:
strategy and the way it is built, operation management (especially project
management), relations with environment (especially clients), finances and
salary systems, personal policy (feedback, competencies development),
marketing, organizational culture and work atmosphere. Employees are asked to
express themselves on how satisfied they are with their jobs and how they see
their future in the company. We also ask them about the level of involvement of
employees in what is happening in a company. Every organizational solution has
to be adequate to employees’ mentality. If they are in a conflict even very
good and expensive implementations are declined. “openIndex” examines
employees’ understanding of a situation to choose the best solution in the next
steps.
openFeedback
Salary system is one of the basic way of giving employees feedback on their
work performance. At the same time it is one of the most difficult systems to
build because it directly concerns particularly sensitive (from psychological
point of view) issue – self-esteem. ‘openFeedback’ questionnaire examining
employees’ preferences on a salary system lets not only recognize their
opinions but also make employees understand the complexity of the salary system
and shows what would be the consequences of their ideas’ realization. That is
why presentation carried on by the SATC, during which employees (or their
representatives) have an occasion to discuss their reward systems, is an
integral part of the questionnaire research. In that way employees have to face
the situation that usually is known only by the board. Depending on company’s
size, employees or their representatives can collaborate in creating new salary
system.
openExpert
Competency development in Hi-Tech companies is mostly directed by current
business goals. Requirements that are up-to-date at the moment, may became
inadequate in 2-3 years time. Trained employees have to either start searching
for a new company or change a domain of their competencies. When still changing
main domain of development employees can not be exceptionally good at any of
them. That is the situation when employees can pay for loyalty to their company
with lack of personal development. The main goal of ‘openExpert’ questionnaire
is an expertise research – verifying existing and expecting level of employees
competencies. Thanks to that questionnaire we can make a specific inventory of
competencies necessary for organization to run efficiently. Hardly any company
is ready to share its strategies but our analysis in a form of presentation
allows us to check whether a level and direction of competencies development is
consistent with company’s strategy or is it a weak spot and should be
immediately improved.
